Congratulations to Peter Eastgate the World Series of Poker Main Event Champion! At long last the field has been vanquished and Peter Eastgate stands atop them all. In the longest ever final table/heads up battle in the history of the Main Event, the final two Ivan Demidov and Peter Eastgate battled for #104 hands heads up before finally crowning a winner. Demidov takes home the second spot and $5,809,595. Eastgate, the youngest ever winner of poker's greatest tournament at the tender age of 22, takes home $ 9,152,416 for his efforts! He also dethrones Phil Hellmuth as the youngest player to win the Main Event. Congratulations to Eastgate on an excellent run. You have not only the cash, the bracelet, but also the admiration of the Poker World! Thanks again to PokerNews.com for covering and providing live reporting from the hallowed halls of the Rio. I look forward to watching it all on ESPN!
