WSOP 2009 events 15 & 16 winners, updates for 17 -20

In Event 15 - $5,000 No Limit Hold'em, Brian Lemke has taken down the top spot, of $692,658 and the WSOP bracelet of course, after besting the field of 655 players that started the event. Congratulations!

And in Event 16 - $1,500 Seven Card Stud, Jeff Lisandro came out on top of the 359 entrants winning the bracelet and $124,959 for his efforts. Congratulations to him as well!

Day 2 of Event 17 - $1,000 Ladies World Championship, brought us down to 21 remaining ladies of the 1,060 who started. The top 117 will get paid, but the top spot will be
$195,390. Yes, I was right, this one is being followed, closely and in pictorial fashion. One player to have caught the attention of the reporters and the guys reading along at home is Lauren Kling! You'll just have to head over to Pokernews.com for yourself to take a look.

17 of the starting 179 players remain in Event 18 - $10,000 World Championship Omaha Hi/Lo 8-or-better after day 2 came to a close. Day 3 will get under way today. Some of the names still in it... and already getting paid by the way are, Scott Clements, Daniel Alaei, Alex Kravchenko, Annie Duke, and Daniel Negreanu. Stay tuned.

135 of the original 1,068 players remain in Event 19 - $2,500 Six-handed No Limit Hold'em. This one will return for play today.

And very shortly Day 1 of Event 20 - $1,500 Pot Limit Hold'em, will get under way. Also scheduled for today is Event 21 - $3,000 H.O.R.S.E., which won't begin until 5:00pm PST this evening.

Hope you are all enjoying the coverage from PokerNews.com... and my small, little contribution to the ongoing dialogue about what is going on.

Regards,
