The winner of Event 17 - $1,000 Ladies World Championship is Lisa Hamilton, who bested the field of 1,060 players to capture the WSOP bracelet and the top prize of $195,390. According to reports from PokerNews.com this was Hamilton's first live tournament! The 37 year old from Hawaii had her boyfriend (and great poker player) Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier on the rail to support her. Congratulations to her!

In Event 18 - $10,000 World Championship Omaha Hi/Lo 8-or-better, Daniel Alaei came out on top of the heap, having bested the 179 player field. He takes home the bracelet and $ 445,898. Others of interest to me (yes to me, it's my blog... get your own) who cashed in the event include Scott Clements, Daniel Negreanu, Greg Jamison (hey bwop your friend got paid) Annie Duke, Ville Wahlbeck, and Alex Kravchenko. Congratulations however to Daniel Alaei.

Day 2 of Event 19 - $2,500 Six-handed No Limit Hold'em came to a close with 11 players remaining of the 1,068 who started. Currently Joe Serock is in the chip lead, but close on his heels is Brock Parker who has already laid claim to one WSOP bracelet in this years series, namely in Event 14 the $2,500 6-handed limit hold'em event.

Day 1 of Event 20 - $1,500 Pot Limit Hold'em has come to a close and the 633 player field has been reduced to 62 players. Everyone left, will get paid, including some of these recognizable names according to PokerNews.com: "Mark Seif, Joe Sebok, Roland de Wolfe, Mike Sexton and Kathy Liebert."

198 players will return today of the 452 who started Event 21 - $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. Among the group of healthy chip stacks are: Gavin SMith, Barry Greenstein, and John Juanda.
