WSOP 2009 Events 45 & 46 winners, 47-49 updates

Event 45 - $10,000 World Championship Pot Limit Hold'em has a winner, John Kabbaj, who outlasted 275 players and takes home his first WSOP bracelet and a tidy $633,335 top prize. Congratulations.

Event 46 - $2,500 Omaha Hi/Lo 8-or-better is now in the books too, and we find Derek Raymond atop the mound of chips. He takes home WSOP gold and $229,192. Congratulations.

The final table (9) of Event 47 - $2,500 Mixed Hold'em will regroup today at 2:00pm. A few recognizable names remaining of the 527 who started, include Barry Greenstein, Hasan Habib, and Ylon Schwartz.

The first day of Event 48 - $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo 8-or-better came to a close not long ago and the remaining 87 players of 762 who started will return today at 2:00pm PST.

Two events will see their Day 1 kick off today. First, the big Event 49 - $50,000 World Championship H.O.R.S.E., which will bring out the stars at high noon. Then, later at 5:00pm Event 50 - $1,500 Limit Hold'em Shootout.
