WSOP 2009 events 26 & 27 winners, updates for 28-33

The winner of Event 26 - $1,500 Limit Hold'em is Tomas Alenius. He bested the field of 643 players to take down the WSOP bracelet (his first) and the $197,488 prize. Congratulations.

In Event 27 - $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo 8-or-better our winner is Roland de Wolfe. He bested the 198 player field to claim his first WSOP bracelet and the $246,616 top prize. According to PokerNews.com he is now one of only two Triple Crown winners, having won an EPT, WPT and now WSOP title! The other player to claim this distinction is Gavin Griffin. Congratulations.

27 of the starting 2,641 players remain in Event 28 - $1,500 No Limit Hold'em. Day 3 will get underway at 1:00pm PST.

Day 3 of Event 29 - $10,000 World Championship Heads Up No Limit Hold'em will return today at 2:00pm. Among the 256 who began only 8 now remain and one of them is Johnny friggin' Chan! $625,682 and the WSOP bracelet awaits.

Event 30 - $2,500 Pot Limit Omaha will also get its Day 2 started today at 2:00pm PST. 61 players remain of the 436 who started. Currently in the chip lead is JC Tran. Still there are quite a few other big names in this field to contend with, including: John Juanda, Eli Elezra, Andy Bloch, and Phil Ivey to name just a few.

Lots of poker remains to be played in Event 31 - $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. 240 players return of the 770 who started. Again, shooting for another 2:00pm PST starting time.

Event 32 - $2,000 No Limit Hold'em and Event 33 - $10,000 World Championship Limit Hold'em will get underway today with a noon and 5pm PST starting time respectively. Stay tuned for all the best coverage over at PokerNews.com!
